Insightful Info
The Jews Expected a Divine Messiah   In describing the Apostle Paul's original objection to Christianity, Ellen White wrote that he just couldn't accept the idea that the Messiah would be a mere man. Could it really be true that first-century Jews believed that the Messiah wuld be divine? Statements by four different Bible characters seem to confirm this view.

Her Beliefs
Eschatology: The Millennium   Ellen White's eschatology was most definitely pre-millennial. She believed in a millennium composed of a literal 1000 years, immediately preceded by a literal second coming of Christ. However, her view of what takes place during the millennium was somewhat different from that of many evangelicals. See if you think her views were biblical or not.

Quote for Today (How we select)
"Temptations often appear irresistible because, through neglect of prayer and the study of the Bible, the tempted one cannot readily remember God's promises and meet Satan with the Scripture weapons. But angels are round about those who are willing to be taught in divine things; and in the time of great necessity they will bring to their remembrance the very truths which are needed. Thus 'when the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.' Isaiah 59:19."
(Great Controversy 600)

Fulfilled or Fallacy?
"No Safety in Possessing Flocks or Herds"   Wacky as it sounds, Ellen G. White predicted that that it would become unsafe to possess flocks and herds. Wackier yet are the news stories about kids getting bird flu from kissing chickens, and prions being found in milk and urine. Who would have dreamed?

Life Sketch Snippet
William Miller Returns to Portland in 1842   The congregations were unusually quiet and attentive. His manner of preaching was not flowery or oratorical, but he dealt in plain and startling facts that roused his hearers from their careless indifference. He supported his statements and theories by Scripture proof as he progressed.   [more]

The blessing so earnestly sought by every Hebrew was denied this godly pair; their home was ..."
